TERRA / PRODUCT SELECTION GUIDE
Earthing conductor selection guide
Consider copper, steel and other conductor options alongside material and dimensional differences.
Which data matter when selecting an earthing conductor?
Choose the material and conductor form specified for your project. Then compare cross-section (mm²) or tape dimensions (mm), plating and roll length where available. Make the final choice with site conditions and technical documents in view.
SPECIFICATION MATCH
Select the specified conductor step by step.
Choose material, then conductor form. Coatings and other properties appear in sequence only when relevant. Choose “All” to skip a step.
Matching codes appear after choosing the relevant criteria and size.

| Product family | Material | Cross-section / size | Other fields |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mono conductor | Copper / Aluminum / Steel | 4–70 mm² · 8 · 10 mm | plating |
| Stranded conductor | Copper / Steel | 10–240 mm² · 95 · 70 · 50 mm | plating |
| Tape conductor | Copper / Steel / Aluminum | 30 x 2 · 20 x 3 · 25 x 3 · 25 x 5 · 30 x 3 · 30 x 5 · 40 x 3 · 40 x 5 · 50 x 5 · 50 x 6 · 60 x 5 · 80 x 5 · 100 x 10 · 40 x 4 · 30 x 3,5 mm | plating, colour, roll length |
| Copper-clad conductor | Aluminum / Steel | 16–50 mm² | plating, type |
| Flexible Stranded Copper Conductor | Copper | 6–95 mm² | plating |
| Flexible Tape Copper Conductor | Copper | 30 x 5 x 500 · 20 x 3 x 500 · 25 x 3 x 500 · 30 x 3 x 500 · 25 x 5 x 500 mm | plating |
| NYAF (H07V-K) Conductor | Copper | 10–185 mm² | — |
| NYA (H07V-R) Conductor | Copper | 1–150 mm² | — |
| NYY (YVV) Conductor | Copper | 1–4 cores · 1.5–240 mm²/core | core count |
Keep cross-section and tape dimensions separate
- mm² denotes conductor cross-section in the catalog; mm describes tape or profile dimensions. These values should not be combined into a single numeric filter.
- In NYY (YVV) values such as 1 x 16, the first number is the core count and the second is the cross-section per core in mm². They are not combined into one total cross-section.
- Most families list weight in kg/m; flexible copper tape conductor entries list kg. The values are shown without unit conversion.
- Plating, colour, conductor type and roll length are selection fields only where the catalog records them.
Information to confirm before requesting a quote
- Which material and conductor form does the project specification require?
- Which unit describes the required cross-section or tape dimensions?
- Is plating, colour, roll length or another product property required?
- Which technical document confirms application and standards requirements?
Consider the site conditions
Current-carrying requirements, corrosion exposure, installation method and standard documents all affect product choice. Terra’s technical team can help assess them alongside your project specification.
