Privacy Notice on the Protection of Personal Data

This notice has been prepared by TERRA TOPRAKLAMA ELEKTRİK MÜHENDİSLİK LİMİTED ŞİRKETİ in its capacity as data controller, within the scope of Article 10 of Law No. 6698 on the Protection of Personal Data ("KVKK").

Personal Data Processed

The following personal data are processed through this website.

Through the contact and quote forms: name, email address, optional telephone number, company name (optional in the contact form and required in the quote form), message content and products selected in the quote form.

Lightning risk calculation: full name, company, email, optional phone, structure/project name, location, dimensions, thunderstorm data and source, structure/use coefficients, privacy acknowledgement and, if selected after receiving the report, your contact preference. Verification links are valid for 24 hours. Reports are sent only to your verified email address; no marketing subscription is created.

Automatically: during your visit, your IP address together with your browser and device information may be processed for technical logging purposes by the hosting and content delivery infrastructure.

We do not request special categories of personal data. Please do not enter health information, identity documents or other sensitive information in message fields.

Newsletter subscription: the email address entered in the Hostinger Reach form, subscription consent, status and date information are processed. Loading the embedded form may also share technical data such as your IP address and browser information with the provider.

Optional usage analytics: only when you allow analytics, Google Analytics 4 may process page views, device/browser information, cookie identifiers and site interactions. Analytics is disabled in the preview environment.

Purposes of Processing

Your personal data are processed for the following purposes:

• Receiving, evaluating and responding to your enquiries
• Reviewing your product and quote requests
• Responding to requests for technical information about our products and services
• Preparing the requested lightning risk calculation, verifying your email and sending the report; contacting you for a project consultation if requested
• Ensuring the security and technical continuity of the website
• Sending email newsletters and managing subscription preferences with your separate subscription consent
• Measuring site use and contact/product interactions with your separate analytics permission

Your data are not used for marketing, advertising or campaign notifications without your explicit consent.

Method of Collection

Data are collected electronically by automated means through contact and quote forms, the embedded Hostinger Reach subscription form, infrastructure logs and, only with your permission, Analytics cookies.

Legal Basis

Your personal data are processed on the basis of the following legal grounds set out in Article 5 of the KVKK:

• 5/2-c: Being directly related to the establishment or performance of a contract — in respect of delivering the product or information you have requested
• 5/2-ç: Necessity for the data controller to fulfil its legal obligations — in respect of retention and disclosure obligations arising from legislation
• 5/2-f: Necessity of processing for the legitimate interests of the data controller, provided that this does not harm the fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject — in respect of contacting those who submit requests and keeping a record of those requests
• 5/1 — Explicit consent: obtained separately for optional usage analytics and email newsletters. Neither permission is required to send an enquiry or quote request. Reading this notice does not, by itself, grant these permissions.

Transfer of Data

Your personal data may be transferred to the following parties and for the following purposes:

Within Türkiye: to authorised public institutions and organisations within the framework of our legal obligations; and to the accounting, legal and information technology service providers we work with, only to the extent required by the relevant service.

Technical service providers: Netlify hosts the website and receives contact/quote forms; Hostinger Reach provides the embedded subscription form and manages newsletter subscriptions; Google Analytics 4 measures usage only when you allow analytics.

Lightning calculation submissions and reports are stored privately on Netlify. Resend processes the recipient address and email content to deliver verification and report emails. Calculation records on the site are deleted by a daily cleanup after 30 days. Email delivery logs and correspondence about requested consultations follow their own retention processes.

When the Google Maps location map on the contact page loads, Google may receive technical data such as your IP address and browser information. The map shows our location and provides access to directions.

Infrastructure abroad: technical data and data submitted to these services may be processed on servers outside Türkiye. Transfers abroad must meet the conditions of Article 9 of the KVKK. You may use the application channels below to request information about transfers and your rights.

Your data are not otherwise shared with third parties, sold or transferred for commercial purposes.

Retention Period

Your personal data are retained for as long as necessary for the purpose for which they are processed, taking into account the minimum periods prescribed in the relevant legislation.

Contact and quote request records: retained for as long as necessary to respond to the request and manage a possible commercial relationship.

Where a commercial relationship is established, the relevant data become subject to the retention periods prescribed in the Turkish Commercial Code and the Tax Procedure Law.

Upon expiry of the retention period or where the purpose of processing ceases to exist, your personal data are erased, destroyed or anonymised.

Newsletter: the newsletter address is used to manage your subscription. After you unsubscribe, records necessary to prevent further mailings and manage consent/objection requests may be retained.

Usage analytics: on 10 October 2026, the Google Analytics account is configured to retain event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months. Resetting user-data retention on new activity is enabled; the 14-month period is therefore not a fixed deletion date measured from the first visit. These periods cover the relevant user-level and event-level analytics data; they do not determine retention of standard aggregated reports or the lifetime of cookies in your browser. Your browser stores your permission preference as described below.

Your Rights as a Data Subject

Pursuant to Article 11 of the KVKK, by applying to the data controller you have the right to:

• Learn whether your personal data are being processed,
• Request information if they have been processed,
• Learn the purpose of processing and whether they are used in accordance with that purpose,
• Know the third parties to whom they are transferred within Türkiye or abroad,
• Request their correction if they have been processed incompletely or inaccurately,
• Request their erasure or destruction within the conditions set out in the KVKK,
• Request that correction, erasure and destruction operations be notified to the third parties to whom the data have been transferred,
• Object to a result arising against you through the analysis of your data exclusively by automated systems,
• Claim compensation for damage you suffer as a result of unlawful processing.

How to Apply

You may submit requests relating to the rights listed above in accordance with the procedures set out in the Communiqué on the Procedures and Principles of Application to the Data Controller, by the following means:

• In writing: in person or through a notary public to Perpa Ticaret Merkezi, B Blok Kat:5 No:390 Okmeydanı/Şişli/İstanbul, together with documents evidencing your identity
• By email: to [email protected], from the email address registered in our systems

Your application will be concluded free of charge as soon as possible and within thirty days at the latest, depending on the nature of the request. Where the process requires an additional cost, the fee set out in the tariff determined by the Personal Data Protection Board may be charged.

Cookies and Analytics Choice

The Google Analytics tag is not loaded before you allow analytics. If you allow it, Google's first-party analytics cookies, such as `_ga` and `_ga_*`, may be used. You may change your accept/decline choice using the site's analytics choice button. Withdrawing permission does not undo previous processing; existing cookies may be removed through your browser settings.

The `terra_analytics_choice` entry stores your accept/decline preference in browser local storage. The code does not define an automatic expiry for this entry; clearing browser/site data removes it. This preference is separate from newsletter subscription.

Email Newsletter

The newsletter form is shown directly on the page; your browser may load it as you approach the newsletter section. Loading the form does not create a subscription; you must give the separate newsletter consent inside the form before submitting your email address.

If you no longer wish to receive newsletters, contact [email protected]. Where an email provides an unsubscribe link, you may also use that link. Withdrawing newsletter permission does not prevent you from sending enquiries or quote requests.

Metal Prices

The cards on the metal prices page are provided by MetalCharts (metalcharts.org). Loading a card connects your browser to that service; technical connection data such as your IP address and browser information may reach the provider. Information submitted in Terra’s contact, quote and newsletter forms is not passed to these price cards.

Changes

This privacy notice may be revised in line with changes in legislation or updates to our data processing practices. The current text is always published on this page.
